Per WAC 173-160-171 (3) (b) (v) "one hundred feet from all other sources or potential sources of contamination..." i.e. a septic drain field is a source of or potential source of contamination, as well as fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals. 193 Golden Rd. is surrounded by commercial agricultural lands, using fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals. These agricultural lands have been farmed since the late 1940's and are protected by "Right to Farm" law.
Any potential domestic water well placement requires a radius of a 100 feet or more distance from any potential source of contamination.
The 193 Property has a East to West, width of 160 feet, which has not changed since its' inception around 1966. A domestic water well requires a radius of 100 feet in all directions for a "Sanitary Control Area" (SCA); i.e. a 200 foot diameter circle with the well at the center.
The thick red circles indicate the "Sanitary Control Area".
To place a domestic water well on the 193 Property, a "Restrictive Covenant" would need to be obtained from either or both of the neighboring farm lands, i.e. anything outside the thick yellow lines shown on the map below. A "Variance" from Okanogan County for a domestic well located within 100 feet of the Golden Road would also be required.
The neighboring farm lands use fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals which would not qualify for a "Restrictive Covenant".
